How it works
You Direct is a flexible service that does not have large policy manuals or lots of rules that make it difficult for you to meet your needs.
How we work depends to a large extent on you.
These five steps simply provide a guide – they are not laid in stone!

First of all we get together and decide how many hours it will take for us to give you what you want. You can involve anyone else you wish in this discussion and if social work are involved in your life and funding some of your support, they will usually want to be there.

We agree the number of hours needed, and a contract is signed. Our current hourly rate to create your plan, broker your support and even to facilitate your circle of support is just £25!

You Direct…and we get on with the work! We’ll work on a plan together, using our expertise and your knowledge. Friends and family can get involved at this stage too. This can be emotionally demanding work, and time consuming. This is the hard bit, but that is why we are here!

Your finished plan will contain your hopes and dreams for the future; your immediate needs – everything that is important to you. We’ll work now on how to implement it. That will involve us in the real business of brokerage; finding creative and inspiring ways to deliver the support you want, as cost effectively as possible. Of course, we won’t do anything without consulting you first.

That’s it! You might want our help with building a circle of support, or you might want to get on with your life. We will discuss any further help you need from us at this point.
